This quilt project by Sew Granny Sew on YouTube used only 3 different fabrics to make such a beautiful block that looks complicated to make but is actually super quick and easy. The fabric used is earth-toned or brown and is the perfect combination, I love how simple and appealing this block is, but the best part of this video tutorial is that it’s so easy that even beginners can give this project a try!
Step 1
Cut the medium print and dark print fabric to size, then lay the dark brown fabric with its right side facing up, and place a triangle flipped upside down on top, make sure their edges are lined up, the right sides are facing, and the point of the triangle is centered. Place another triangle on the bottom part also making sure that it’s positioned properly as the upper triangle, then pin them in place, and then sew them along the straight edges with ¼ inch seam allowance. Press the seams open, then cut off the nubs, and place the remaining triangles on each side using the same technique.

Step 2
Once down stitching, press the seams open, cut off the nubs, and then set it aside. Get the light brown print fabric, then cut 2 squares at 6½ inches, and cut them in half diagonally from corner to corner. Get the pieced block you worked on earlier, then rotate it so that the center is shaped like a diamond, and stitch the large triangles on all sides using the same process you used earlier. Make sure to press the seams open every now and then, trim off the excess, and you’re done.
