Materials for Spring Roses Quilt Block:

  • 1¼ yard of dark rose fabric
  • 1 yard of pink
  • 1 yard of green
  • 1 yard of peach
  • 1 yard of gray
  • 1¼ yards of floral
  • 1½ yards of cream
  • Marking pen, pencil, or chalk
  • Ruler
  • Scissors or rotary cutter and a cutting mat
  • Fabric pins
  • Needle and thread
  • Iron, for pressing
  • Sewing machine

How to Make a Spring Rose Quilt Block:

Step 1

Download the pattern, then cut the fabrics to size, and start making the half-square triangle units. Draw the pattern onto the wrong side of the cream fabric, then place it on top of the dark rose fabric with their right sides facing, and pin them together.

Step 2

Stitch along the straight lines, then sew on either side of the diagonal lines with ¼ inch seam allowance and trim off the excess. Cut them apart along the diagonal lines, then press them open, and proceed to make the rest of the half-square triangle units using the same steps.

Step 3

Assemble the inner corner of the quilt block making sure to refer to the pattern, then stitch them together, and press it down. Make the other 3 variations of the inner corner block, then piece together the log cabin strips, and stitch them around the inner corner blocks making sure to press the seams as you go.
