You can also use leftover fabrics with this block and make it look as scrappy as you want. You can arrange the blocks together to form any pattern that you want and also you can finish a single block within just a couple of minutes. Learn how now.
Step 1
Cut the fabrics to size, then pair the print and background triangles together, and stitch the pair into half-square triangle units making sure to press the seams as you go. Match the background squares together with the half-square triangles and small squares as shown in the video, then draw a line on the wrong side of the small square diagonally.

Step 2
Place a small square on the top corner of a large background square with their right sides facing, then stitch just to the right of the marked line, and trim off the excess about ¼ inch away from the stitching line. Press the seams open, flip up the fabric on the corner, and repeat the same steps for the remaining pieces.
Step 3
Lay the half-square triangle units on opposite corners, then place the bowtie units on the empty corners to form a block, and sew them together pressing the seams as you go. Repeat the same for the rest of the units, then assemble them into a block, and arrange them however you want. Stitch the block units together, then press the seams, and you’re done!
