If you’re a beginner in quilting and are worried if you can try this project, then I assure you that this block is very simple and easy to piece together. Plus, this project also comes with a free pattern to guide you along the way. Watch this video tutorial by Carol Thelen on YouTube now.
Step 1
Download and print the pattern, then cut the fabric pieces according to the instructions, and group them. Take 1 small dark print triangle and 1 small light-volume print triangle, then lay them together with their right sides facing, and stitch them.
Step 2
Flip the piece open, then press, and trim off the excess to make it square. Repeat the same process with the remaining small triangles and do the same steps to the small dark and contrasting dark triangles.

Step 3
Get a large contrasting triangle, then place a small medium print triangle on each upper side, and lay them so their right sides are facing and edges lined up. Stitch them, then flip them open, and press nicely.
Step 4
Repeat for the remaining dark and medium triangles, then make sure to trim off all the excess. Assemble the block units as shown in the video, then stitch them one at a time per row, and then stitch the rows to each other making sure to press as you go.
