One dish that I can never get tired of is scalloped potatoes, I can eat this every day, and I would never complain. I have tried different kinds of recipes before, but the one that really stood out to me the most is this recipe by Delish on YouTube. This is a very simple and easy approach to making scalloped potatoes but it makes the dish so cheesy, flavorful, and scrumptious.

This is a great dish to prepare when you need something hearty and delicious but at the same time quick to prepare. I also make this dish when I have guests coming over or when I need food to bring to a potluck. If you want to learn how, then read the instructions below, and be sure to watch the video tutorial, too.
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Place a large skillet on a stove over medium-high heat, then add the bacon, and cook them until nice and crispy. Scoop out the cooked bacon with a slotted spoon, then transfer them to a plate lined with paper towels, and set them aside for later.
Step 2
Lower the heat to medium, then in the same skillet, add the butter, and allow it to melt. Add the garlic, then saute for about 1 minute or until fragrant, add the flour, and stir them well. Cook the flour for another minute, then pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, and give them a good whisk.

Step 3
Season them with salt and pepper, then allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes or until slightly thickened, and turn off the heat. Remove the pan from the stove, then scoop a thin layer of sauce into the bottom of a large casserole dish, and put the thinly sliced potatoes over the sauce in a single layer as shown in the video.
Step 4
Scoop more sauce over the potatoes, then sprinkle the cheese and bacon on top, and repeat the layers 3 to 4 more times or until the casserole is full. Place it in the preheated oven, then allow it to bake for about 40 to 50 minutes or until the sauce is bubbly and the potatoes are fork-tender, and let it rest for at least 15 minutes to cool down a bit. Serve and enjoy!
