Pick 2 squares from your pack in contrasting colors. Place them on top of each other, then cut them into 5″ squares.
Take the 2 1/2″ background squares, fold them in half diagonally, and press with an iron.
Decide which print from the squares you want for the corner. Take two background squares and place them on opposite corners of the print. Sew on the line and trim just above the sewn line. Do it on the other side, then press out the corners so they lay nice. Repeat for the remaining 5″ pieces with the same print.
Make the petal squares. Take the other square and 2 1/2″ squares. Place one square on the top corner, then sew on the crease. Trim just above the sewn line. Repeat for the other top corner. Press it with an iron. Do the same for the remaining 5″ squares.
Arrange the small blocks as shown below to make the flower.
Sew the first three rows together. Repeat for the next rows. Press the seams of the top and bottom rows towards the outside, then the middle row towards the inside.
Put the rows right side together then sew them. Press it flat with an iron, flip then flatten the seams. You need 20 pieces of this block for the quilt.
Arrange 4 blocks in a row, then put the sashings between each piece. Next, put the sashings on the bottom and the cornerstones between each piece. Make 5 rows for the whole quilt.
