One of my favorite hobbies is junk journaling, it’s a great way to commemorate something or a specific text on a book, or image, or when you just simply want to do something creative. It’s also the best way to give new life to items that otherwise you would think should already be in the trash such as torn book pages, magazines, etc.

Recently, I’ve discovered this amazing hack by Our Upcycled Life on YouTube which is not only great for junk journaling but is also a trick that you can try when transferring print images to jars, coffee mugs, and more. With that said, you can use this idea when trying to make a handmade gift to a loved one. Watch the video tutorial below to learn how.
Step 1
Cut out the image that you want to transfer, it can either be a book page, magazine clipping, or printed photo, then cut a piece of tape making sure it’s large enough to cover the entire image cutout.
Step 2
Stick the tape onto the image, then use a solid card to scrape and press the tape down to the image, cut out the excess tape, and place the piece on a container filled with warm water.
Step 3
Allow it to soak for about 30 to 40 seconds, then start scrubbing off the paper using your fingers leaving only the ink, and let it dry before sticking it onto your journal or any item that you want.
