This candy recipe by The Hillbilly Kitchen – Down Home Country Cooking on YouTube not only looks fantastic but also tastes incredibly delicious too! I always try to make these and have them ready in my fridge so I can get and eat some whenever I want, even my friends who come over love it when I serve them this candy. Plus, this is also perfect to serve over parties, gatherings, or holidays.

Ingredients:

  • 2½ cups of granulated sugar
  • ½ cup of white corn syrup
  • ½ cup of water
  • 3 egg whites
  • Powdered sugar, as needed
  • 1½ jars or 18 ounces of peanut butter

Directions:

Step 1

Place a saucepan on a stove over medium-high heat, then add the white corn syrup and granulated sugar, and heat them up for about 5 minutes or until boiling making sure to stir them around occasionally. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the egg whites, then beat them until nice and fluffy, and set it aside. Stir and check if the syrup mixture is ready, then pour it into the egg whites in batches while continuing beating, add the sugar about half a cup at a time alternating it with the syrup mixture.

Step 2

Scrape the sides of the bowl as well as the mixer attachment every now and then while still beating them together until it forms into a dough. Spread a generous amount of powdered sugar on your work surface, then transfer the dough, and squeeze it into a ball. Start kneading the dough until smooth, then cut it into 4 even squares, and shape each one of them nicely. Flatten the dough, then spread some peanut butter all over the top, and roll it over. Wrap each roll with plastic wrap, then put them inside the fridge to set for about 1 hour before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
