  • 5 small oranges
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup of oil
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla sugar
  • 1½ cups of flour
  • 1 tsp of baking powder
  • ½ cup of milk

How to Make Orange Cake:

Step 1

Peel the oranges and cut them in half across, then place them in a square baking pan with their cut side facing down, and set them aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the eggs, oil, granulated sugar, and vanilla sugar, then beat them for 1 minute until creamy.

Step 2

Now, sift over the flour and baking powder, then keep beating until incorporated, and pour in the milk. Continue to beat until ribbon consistency, then fold and scrape the sides nicely.

Step 3

Pour the batter into the pan with the upside-down oranges, then tap the baking pan on the counter to remove air bubbles, and place it in an oven preheated at 180°C or 356°F. Allow it to bake for about 35 to 40 minutes, then let it cool down completely, and serve. Enjoy!
