It’s something that even my family loves and looks forward to every time, and what’s even better is that this fudge makes as a great edible gift idea for a loved one, too. But most of all, what I love about this fudge is how simple it is to make, and the fact that it requires no baking at all, so you don’t need to worry if you don’t own an oven. You can prepare this with just a few easy steps, read the instructions down below now to learn how, and watch the video tutorial as well.

Ingredients for Coconut Fudge:

Caramelized Coconut

  • 1/3 cup of sugar
  • 2 tbsp of water
  • 1⅓ cups of unsweetened shredded coconut

Fudge

  • 4 cups of powdered milk
  • ½ tsp of salt
  • 1¼ cups of sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1⅓ cups of unsweetened shredded coconut

How to Make Coconut Fudge:

Step 1

Place a medium heavy-bottomed skillet on a stove over medium-high heat, then add the sugar and water, and cook them until sugar dissolves and starts to caramelize making sure not to stir it. Add the shredded coconut, then stir them for about 1 minute until combined and it becomes golden-brown, and turn off the heat.

Step 2

Transfer it to a bowl and set it aside to cool down. Grease an 8-9-inch square pan with butter and set it aside, then in a medium-sized bowl, add the powdered milk and salt, and whisk them to combine. Place a medium-sized saucepan on a stove, then pour in the water, add the sugar, and bring them to a boil.

Step 3

Allow the mixture to simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes, then add the butter, and stir them until melted. Turn off the heat, then remove the saucepan, add the vanilla extract, and stir them until combined. Pour the syrup mixture over the powdered milk mixture, then give them a good mix until incorporated, and reserve 2/3 cup of the caramelized coconut for topping later.

Step 4

Add the shredded coconut to the remaining caramelized coconut, then fold them until well combined, and pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Sprinkle the reserved caramelized coconut all over the top, then set it aside at room temperature, and allow it to cool down completely. Cut it into pieces, then serve, and enjoy!
