This video tutorial by Sunrise Quilt Studio on YouTube ensures that you can follow all the steps easily with her detailed instructions and you won’t feel pressured. This is a project with medium difficulty but is something that beginners can still try.
Step 1
Download and print the pattern, then cut the fabrics as instructed, and start with the flying geese units. Get the fabrics that you’ll need, then place a white square on one end of the yellow rectangle making sure their right sides are facing and edges are matching. Stitch them diagonally, then trim off the excess, and press the seams nicely.
Step 2
Repeat the same steps with the rest of the fabric pieces, then stitch all of the flying geese units on all sides of the yellow square of the center, and press the seams as you go. Get the larger white and yellow squares, then stack them together with their right sides facing, and line the back of the white square diagonally.
Step 3
Stitch them on either side of the line with ¼ inch seam allowance, then cut them apart along the line, and press the seams nicely. Repeat the same steps with the rest and set them aside. Get the green and white squares, then stack them so their right sides are facing, and stitch them on one side. Chain piece the rest, then cut them apart, and press the seams nicely.
Step 4
Stack then green and white rectangles, then stitch on the longer edge, chain piece, and cut apart before pressing. Stitch the two previous units together as shown in the video, then arrange everything together making sure to refer to the pattern or video, then stitch them per row, and then the rows to each other pressing the seams as you go.
