Hemming a stretchy fabric might prove difficult because the stitches could get out of place and worse show up in the fabric all wonky and inconsistent. You would think that hemming a stretchy fabric needs expertise and requires lots of skills, but you’ll be surprised to know that it only takes the right method, and you can do it even if you’re a beginner in sewing. What’s even better is that the stitches are invisible even if you stretch the fabric on purpose.

Believe it or not, that is possible and can be done by anyone, just follow the simple instructions written down below and make sure to watch this video tutorial by Rem_ade on YouTube as well for more details and to see how the stitches are exactly done. You can practice this on a similar piece of fabric first before doing it on a larger fabric to make sure you get the perfect and desired effect. I hope you find this sewing hack as helpful as I did. Enjoy!
Lay the fabric on your work surface with its wrong side facing up, then roll the hem from the back, and in it in place. Thread the needle and start stitching from left to right, take the first stitch on the fold, then take a small stitch on the fabric just right above the fold, and continue alternating the stitch on the fold and above the fold. Remove the pins, then tie off the thread, and trim off the excess.
