With all the time in my hand that I could spend at home, cooking has been not only my escape from boredom but also an activity where I can relax and have a little bit of fun. There’s a lot of interesting stuff on the internet that is a must-try, but one of them that stood out for me would be this copycat recipe of Pringles, probably an all-time favorite chip for most. This amazing recipe is created by My Lockdown Rasoi on YouTube, this is one of his masterpieces that I truly enjoyed eating. Now I don’t have to buy myself some Pringles from the store because I can already make my own easily.
Salt mixture
Step 1
Peel the potato and wash it well, then boil the potato. Once done boiling, mash it well, then transfer it onto a blender or food processor, add water, and grind until it turns into a very smooth paste. Transfer the contents onto a large mixing bowl, add rice flour, cornstarch, and salt, then fold and mix until well-combined (Note: Pringles have about 42% potato content, the remainder being rice flour/corn flour and corn starch/wheat starch). Knead the potato mixture until it turns into a tight dough. Divide the dough into two parts, then roll each into a smooth ball. Apply some corn starch to avoid them from sticking to the surface. Using a rolling pin, flatten the dough thinly, then prick the dough sheet with several holes using a fork.

Step 2
Cut the chip using a round cookie cutter. Start deep-frying the chips in a preheated medium hot oil for about 10 to 15 seconds, take them out, and let rest on a plate for around 5 minutes. After letting the chips rest, refry them on medium hot oil for about 2 minutes or until golden brown. Prepare the chip seasoning by simply combining salt and citric acid in a small bowl or cup. Sprinkle the salt mixture and toss the chips until well coated. You can add a seasoning of your choice.
