Do you still remember back in the day when you were still a kid and you would peppermint patties? Aren’t those memories sweet to reminisce, I loved eating these candies that my Mom would always make for me and my sister. No candies can ever go wrong when it’s chocolate but the peppermint adds a little kick to the taste. This homemade recipe is taught by The Salted Pepper on YouTube, you can serve this as a treat for the holidays or on any day you want.
Step 1
For the filling mixture, pour the sweetened condensed milk, room temperature butter, and peppermint flavoring on a mixer. Then add the powdered sugar gradually until you’ve reached your desired consistency, continue mixing until the texture becomes smooth and easy to mold. Transfer it in a plastic cling wrap or container and refrigerate for at least 10 minutes. Use a small scoop or teaspoon to make little balls, smoothen between your palm, and lay it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Place another parchment paper on top then press each ball flat until they’re about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Pop it in the freezer and leave it to sit for around 30 minutes.

Step 2
Prepare the chocolate dip by setting up a double boiler or a pot filled with water then place a smaller bowl on top. Add the chips and chocolate, then stir until completely melted before turning the heat down to low-medium. Grab the peppermint patties and dip them in melted chocolate using a fork until completely covered. Place it on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, then leave it on the kitchen counter to set for several hours, or pop it back to the freezer to let it set faster. Clean up the edges and serve.
