I loved ice cream ever since I was a kid, but I have never tried to make it at home. So last weekend, I made this homemade Oreo ice cream recipe by The Cooking Foodie. I couldn’t believe it only required 3 simple ingredients! It was so easy to make and didn’t even need an ice cream machine. As soon as it was ready, I got a few scoops and enjoyed it while watching tv – it was so good! This week I’m going to make 3 batches for my family. Instructions
Step 1:
Cut 14 Oreos into small pieces, then place them in a food processor. Crush into large crumbs. Make sure not to overmix it, as you still want to have big chunks. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place them inside a ziplock bag and crush them using a rolling pin. Once done, set aside.
Step 2:
Add 2 cups of cold heavy cream to a large bowl and whip until stiff peaks using a hand mixer. You can also use your stand mixer.
Step 3:
Add one can or 14 oz of sweetened condensed milk to the whipped cream and beat on low speed until incorporated.
Step 4:
Add the crushed cookies to the condensed milk and whipped cream mixture and fold until well combined.
Step 5:
Transfer to a freezer container, then spread evenly using a spoon or spatula. Top your ice cream with three to four extra crushed cookies. Cover it with a cling wrap and place in the freezer. Freeze the ice cream for at least 6 hours to get the right consistency.
Step 6:
Scoop your ice cream and serve in a bowl. Enjoy!
