Butter cookies are among my favorite cookies of all time, I love how it’s sweet and salty at the same time, but most of all, I enjoy its texture and the way it literally melts in your mouth. It’s also one of the easiest treats that you can make and serve for parties, special occasions, or even on an ordinary day. You can pair it with your favorite hot or cold beverage, too.

But, to make things extra special, this version of butter cookies by Kitchen Fun With My 3 Sons on YouTube is dipped in melted chocolate and coated with some festive sprinkles! You can also tweak the ingredients or the recipe itself by incorporating other variations or flavors into your butter cookies. But, of course, you can still enjoy them as is if you prefer them served plain.
Step 1
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the flour and salt, then give them a good mix, and set it aside. Add the softened butter and sugar in a separate bowl or in the bowl of a stand mixer, then beat them until creamy, light, and fluffy, add the egg yolks, and keep mixing until incorporated, scrape the sides of the bowl as you go.
Step 2
Mix in the vanilla extract, then add the flour mixture to the batter a third at a time, and make sure to mix well in between each addition until just combined. Preheat your oven to 350°F, then transfer some of the dough to a piping bag with a lage star tip, and pipe 1½ to 2-inch swirls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper as shown in the video, make sure they are at least 2 inches apart from each other.
Step 3
Place them in the preheated oven, then allow them to bake for about 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are just starting to turn golden brown, and let them cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes. Transfer the butter cookies onto a wire cooling rack to cool completely, then dip them in melted chocolate, and coat with the sprinkles. Serve and enjoy!
