But, cleaning them is not as difficult as you think, all you have to do is watch this video tutorial by Baby Back Maniac on YouTube, and find out which one of the methods used works best for you. Most of these tips and hacks are very effective and you don’t need to exert too much effort, too!
#1: Pre-Soaking the Grill Grates
Prepare a tub or bucket that’s large enough to fit the grill grates, then prepare either a solution of soapy water or water with PBW, and place the grill grates until fully submerged. Allow them to soak for at least 2 hours or up to overnight. Once done soaking and most of the burnt parts have softened or are removed, give it a good rinse using clean water, or use a pressure washer instead to make sure that there is no residue on the grill grates.
#2: Scrubbing the Grill Grates
If you don’t want to wait too long for the grill grates to soak, you can just directly scrub them clean instead. You can use either a wire brush, table scraper, or a drill with a wire attachment, whichever you have on hand or is most convenient for you. After scrubbing, wipe it clean or rinse it, you can also give it a quick wash using soapy water to make it extra clean and make sure there is no residue on the grill grates.
