To start, cut thirty dark 3 1/2″ squares, thirty light 3 1/2″ squares, and sixty medium 3 1/2″ squares. Next, grab one dark square and sew it together with a medium square. Press the seam toward the darker fabric afterward. Make 30 pieces of these. Once done, go ahead and sew one light square together with a medium square. Press the seam towards the darker side after sewing. Make 30 pieces of these as well. Now, make a four-patch. Sew the dark/medium units to each medium-light one. This will make 30 pieces of four-patch blocks. Press the seams open afterward.

Now, assemble the quilt top. Sew the four-patch blocks into six rows of five blocks each. Sew those rows together to complete the top (don’t forget to press the seams open in between.)
