This is one of my favorite ways to wrap gifts because it looks so near and fancy, and any gift would look pretty even when you use only plain wrapping paper. The instructions to this tutorial are so easy to follow that anyone can do it even on their first try.

Materials for Gift Wrapping:

  • Wrapping paper
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Scissors
  • Clear tape
  • Double-sided tape

How to Wrap Gifts with Pleats:

Step 1

Cut the wrapping paper to the right size, it should be rectangular, its width should be enough to cover the height of the box, and the length enough to cover the entire box. Make a narrow fold on one short edge, then make wide folds depending on what pleat you want to make, and then flip it over.

Step 2

Set the box aside, then pleat the folds, turn the paper over, and tape the pleats in place. Place the box at the center, then fold over the pleated side and crease the edges, open the flap, and fold over the other side before laying the pleated side over it.

Step 3

Fold down the edge of the paper on the short side, then tape it down, fold in the corners, and tape them in place. Apply double-sized tape to the bottom flap, then fold it up, and press it to adhere the paper in place. Do the same to the other short side, then insert a greeting card if desired, and add any embellishment that you want.
