Step 1
Preheat your oven to 350°F or 175°C, then lightly grease a 9×9-inch square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray or butter, line it with parchment paper, and then set it aside. In a large mixing bowl, add the sugar, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt, then whisk them to combine, and add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract. Give them a good stir to combine, then add the chocolate chips, and continue to mix until incorporated.
Step 2
Pour the mixture into the prepared pan, then spread it evenly, and place it in the preheated oven. Allow it to bake for about 23 or 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted at the center comes out clean, then let it cool for about 20 minutes, and while waiting prepare the toppings. Place a small saucepan on a stove over medium-low heat, then add the sugar, water, corn syrup, and salt, and stir them continuously until the sugar has dissolved.
Step 3
Turn the heat just a bit below medium, then let it continue to cook without stirring until it reaches a temperature of 340-345°F, and then remove it from the heat. Slowly and carefully drizzle in the cream, then add the butter one piece at a time, and keep stirring until smooth and incorporated. Add the vanilla extract, then give them a good stir, and let the mixture cool completely.
Step 4
Pour the cooled caramel sauce over the cooled brownies, then spread it evenly, and sprinkle the chopped pecans over the top in an even layer. Melt the chocolate chips and heavy cream in the microwave on a high setting for about 25 seconds, then whisk them until smooth, and drizzle them over the top of the brownies. Sprinkle some sea salt on top, then cut, and serve. Enjoy!
