These butterflies would make a great gift idea, gift box filler, or even decor. They look so simple and adorable, you can probably finish a single fabric butterfly within just a few minutes. Learn how now!
Step 1
Cut the main fabric and lining fabric into 4″x2.8″, then lay them together with their right sides facing, and sew around the edges leaving only a small opening on one side. Turn it right side out through the opening, then poke the corners nicely, and tuck in the edges of the opening neatly.

Step 2
Sew it close and continue to topstitch all the way around. Fold the piece in half and again in half, then lift the first layer, and hold the other layers down with your other hand. Push the folded side inward, then pinch the seams down, and do the same for the other side, you should end up with a triangle.
Step 3
Flip up the upper layer on one side, then sew it in place, and do the same for the other side. Flip the piece over to the back side, then lift the pointed corner, and sew it in place. You can make a larger butterfly version by cutting the fabrics into 5.3″x 3.6″.
