Inexpensive DIY Lighted Centerpiece Using Dollar Store Bowls

This project idea by Hometalk on YouTube turned out to be surprisingly beautiful! At first glance, you won’t even notice that this is entirely made out of plastic bowls from the Dollar store, that is how amazing this project is put together. I can already imagine how I would decorate my table with this project as my centerpiece and I can’t wait until my family and friends see this, I’m sure they will be amazed, too.
Materials:
- (3) 3.5″ x 8.5″ light blue wavy plastic bowls
- (2) 3.75″ x 11.25″ crystal-cut plastic punch bowls
- Clear dish or plate
- Gorilla glue
- Soldering gun
- Fairy lights
- Artificial leaves and flowers
Directions:
Step 1
Lay a small blue bowl upside down on your work surface, then using a soldering gun melt the edges of the bowl until the whole bottom is completely removed, and repeat with another blue bowl while leaving the last blue bowl intact. Next, lay the large bowl upside down, then place the blue bowl with a hole on top with its right side up, and trace the hole using the soldering gun so that they all have the same size, do this with the other punch bowl as well. Grab the blue bowl with the hole, then lay it upside down, and apply glue all around the edges of the hole.

Step 2
Lay one punch bowl right side up making sure to line up the edges of the holes nicely, apply glue around the mouth of the punch bowl, and lay the other large punch bowl upside down matching the edges nicely. Apply glue around the hole of the punch bowl, then place one blue bowl on top making sure to lay it right side up, dab glue around the edges of the bowl, and lay the last blue bowl on top to complete the whole piece. Leave it to dry completely, then insert lights on the bowls, and place it on top of a matching plate or dish. Decorate around the base with leaves and flowers.
