These woven paper baskets are so fun and easy to make, and they are the perfect storage for your decorative fruits or even real produce if you like. They look so good and no one would even notice that these baskets are handmade unless you tell them so. Learn how now with the help of this video tutorial by Hallmark Channel on YouTube.
Step 1
Cut the paper bag into strips at roughly 3×18 inches, then roll each strip around the wooden skewer diagonally, and secure the ends with hot glue. Remove the paper tube from the skewer and do the same with the rest of the paper strips, then place double-sided tape around the perimeter of the hardboard, and place the tubes on top as shown in the video.
Step 2
Apply E6000 to the hardboard and paper tubes, then place another on top, and let the base dry completely. Make more paper strips at roughly 3×36 inches, then turn them into tubes using the skewer, and begin weaving as demonstrated in the video.
Step 3
Bend the vertical support and weave it into the basket, then continue until all the vertical supports are weaved into the basket, and secure them with hot glue. Coat the basket with clear spray varnish, then prepare the belt as instructed in the video, and attach them to the basket to serve as the handle, securing them in place using washers and screws.
