Materials:

  • glass jars of different sizes
  • water
  • lamp oil/vegetable oil
  • candlewick
  • scissors
  • transparent plastic sheet
  • pebbles/sand/beads (optional)
  • food coloring (optional)

Directions:

Step 1

For candle one, get a glass jar, pour water on it 1/3 away from the rim ( you can add some food coloring here if you like), then pour enough oil on top. Next, take a plastic sheet and cut out a circle smaller than the circumference of the glass. Find the center of the circle you cut out, cut an ex, then insert a candle wick. Cut the excess part. After this, slowly and carefully place the candle wick into the glass jar. Leave it for some time to make sure the candle wick has absorbed enough oil, then light it up.

Step 2

For candle two, pour water again into a glass jar 1/3 away from the rim, then drop beads of your choice. Once you’re happy with the design, pour enough oil on top. Finally, add the candle wick. You can design other water candles you like – you can add beads, pebbles, or even sand. The options are limitless.
