This project idea by BuildersSA on YouTube is super easy to make and is a great way to upcycle an old tire that you may have sitting in your garage. Learn how now by reading the instructions below and while you’re at it make sure to watch the video tutorial as well for more details.
Step 1
Connect the papers to make a large piece of template, then draw the shape of a duck’s head, or print it out instead, and cut it out. Cut the tire in half or however tall you want the seesaw to be and set it aside, then trace the template on top of the wood, and cut the shape out.
Step 2
Cut the wood pieces for the seat as shown in the video, then make a hole through the head of the duck, and push the wooden rod through it for the handle.
Step 3
Attach the wood pieces for the base of the tire, then attach the head and tail of the duck to the seat, and tire underneath, refer to the video tutorial for more details.
Step 4
Fill a rag or piece of cloth with rocks, then tie it securely, and place it near the tail of the duck inside the tire. Hold the weight in place with a piece of wood the same width as the tire, then prime the entire seesaw white, and let it dry completely before coating it with yellow paint.
