This project idea by Miarti – Sewing Tips is something you sewing ladies might love! If you have some Terry fabric or any elastic fabric left from previous projects or you have some that you haven’t used yet, then this is the best project to try them with. You can easily turn them into cute and cozy pairs of socks in as fast as 10 minutes, you can even sew a few pairs, and give them to your loved ones as long as you follow the instructions on how to create your own pattern. Learn them here now!
Step 1
Place your foot on top of a piece of paper, then mark where the toes and heel end as well as the sides of your foot, and draw a vertical line right over those marks. Draw a vertical line at the center of the two vertical lines on each side, then repeat the same process on the sides of the foot but use horizontal lines, and add 1.5cm or about 0.5-inch horizontal lines on each side for the seam allowance.

Step 2
Trim away the sides and excess at the back, then fold over the front part, and press to crease. Fold the paper in half lengthwise toward the back, then draw opposite curves on each edge as shown in the video, and cut them away. Unfold the paper, then fold it in half lengthwise wrong sides together, and cut the sides of the smaller piece following the lines.
Step 2
Place the pattern you’ve made on top of a terry fabric that is folded in half, then pin the template in place, cut the fabric out following the shape, and remove the paper template. Fold over the smaller piece of the fabric, then gather the fabric at the back together at the center making sure that their edges are lined up and matching nicely, and pin them in place. Repeat the previous steps to make the other pair of your sock, then start sewing the sides of the toe part, and sew the edges of the heel part together.
Step 3
Measure the hole of the sock, then remove 4cm or about 1.5 inches from the size, and cut two strips of fabric to that length. Fold the fabric strips across in half, then sew each of their edges together, and turn it right side out. Fold the cuffs in half lengthwise, then pin each of them around the whole of each sock, and sew them in place. Turn the sock right side out and you’re done!
