I adore heart-shaped projects and I love using them for decor or as gift bag fillers. This is why one of my favorite holidays is Valentine’s Day, there are a lot of projects that you can do, from wreaths, and treat containers, to hanging ornaments. But, probably one of my favorite heart projects to make is this shabby fabric heart by Our Shabby Cottage on YouTube.

You can use your fabric scraps to make along with some leftover ribbons and laces from previous projects. Design these hearts however you want and personalize them according to the person you are giving them to or to the theme. They’re very easy to make and don’t require expert sewing skills, you can make them even if you’re a beginner or sew them by hand if you don’t have a machine.
Step 1
Make a heart template on paper or cardboard or just download and print one, then cut the shape out, and trace it on the fabric of your choosing. Cut two to make a pair, then lay them together with their wrong sides facing, and pin them in place. Lay a lace ribbon over it, then position it right in the middle, and cut it to size, do this on both sides.

Step 2
Stitch them together with ½ inch seam allowance, then leave an opening, and through that opening insert the poly-fil stuffing the heart to desired puffiness. Sew the opening close, then decorate your fabric heart, and hot glue some small bows, buttons, or flowers over it. You can also try attaching the lace ribbon over the heart in different directions or if you want you can sew some pockets to it as well.
