Easy DIY Mosaic Table Using Broken Dishes

If you have an old coffee table that you don’t want to throw away yet, then turn it into a mosaic table using thrifted or broken dishes! This DIY project is a great way to repurpose items that you would usually consider as trash and turn them into treasure.

Materials for DIY Mosaic Table:
- Coffee table
- TSP – Trisodium Phosphate
- White chalk paint
- Furniture sealer
- ¼” concrete backer board
- Tile adhesive
- Thrifted dishes
- Mosaic glass cutter or tile nippers
- Hammer
- Sanded grout in Delorean gray
- Rubber float trowel
- Square notch trowel
- Tile and grout sealer
How to Make a Mosaic Table Using Broken Dishes:
Step 1
Clean the table well and paint it with the base, then wash the plates and let it dry completely, and then cut the concrete backer board to size so that it fits the table.
Step 2
Attach the board to the top of the table with screws securely, then cover the plates with a rag, and break them into pieces.
Step 3
Sort them by size, then trace the size and shape of the board to the floor, and arrange the plates however you want.
Step 4
Adhere and transfer the broken plates to the table, then mix the concrete, spread it all over the top, and clean it with a wet sponge as you go.
