This pretty project idea by She So CraftDee on YouTube is a great decor and planter at the same time, it is made out of paint stir sticks and 1x2s only, and is way cheaper than store-bought bench planters. This was a very fun craft that you can build on your own by simply following the step-by-step instructions and watching the video tutorial, too.
Step 1
Leave 3 stir sticks at a length of 21 inches, then cut 2 sticks to 20 inches long, 2 sticks to 19 inches, and the last 2 sticks to 18 inches. On a flat work surface, lay the 21-inch stir sticks horizontally, and mark where each end is with painter’s tape. Remove the stick, then place 18-inch sticks on each mark vertically, and place one 21-inch stick at the center. Now, place the 20-inch and 19-inch stir sticks in between the 21 and 18 inches stick making sure to space them evenly, then do the same on the other side. Grab the last 2 21-inch sticks, then place them at the top and bottom horizontally, and make sure that the edges are all even.

Step 2
Mark where the 21-inch sticks are, then remove them to dab some hot glue on where the sticks should be and put them back nicely. Next, grab the 1×2 wood pieces, then cut 7 at 19½ inches, 4 at 10½ inches, 4 at 7½ inches, 2 at 5½ inches, and 4 at 3 inches. Stain the 19½ and 7½ wood pieces, then set them aside, and allow them to dry completely. Lay them out to make the box, then screw them together in place, and paint them including the fence. Assemble the stained wood pieces and attach them to the box to complete the seat, then attach the fence, and make sure that the edges are even.
