If you’re looking for a craft activity to do with your kids, try making this adorable DIY koala plush from Maqaroon on Youtube! I swear, this is the cutest thing you will see today. It’s super easy to make that only needs a pair of socks and basic crafting materials. Try making one today by watching the video tutorial below to learn the step by step instructions.

Materials:

  • fluffy socks
  • polyester stuffing
  • white craft glue
  • marker
  • needle and thread
  • scissors
  • beads or buttons
  • black scrap

Directions:

Step 1

Turn one sock inside out and lay it flat (the longer side will be the body.) Next, draw a curve on the short side of the sock for the koala’s head, keeping it just above the heel, using a marker. Backstitch along the line, then cut out the excess short side. After this, cut a slit, turn the sock right side out, and fill it with polyester stuffing, filling the body part with a larger amount. Shape the body a bit using your hands to define the head and body, then sew a running stitch along the opening edges. After you reach the end, pull the thread tight to seal the base. Secure with a knot.

Step 2

Next, cut two circles from the remaining sock. Sew a running stitch along the edge of each circle piece, add stuffing in the center, then pull it tight. Attach these to each side of the koala’s head (these will be the ears). Next, mark the eyes with a marker, then sew a button for each eye. After this, get a small black scrap, cut it into a nose, and attach it to the koala using craft glue. Sew the outer edge to secure it in place. Lastly, add some blush on the cheeks. Your DIY koala is now finished!
