I’ve been wanting to do some gardening indoors and after searching the internet for inspiration and ideas, I found this cute herb garden using a shoe organizer. This was a surprisingly brilliant idea and I was looking forward to trying it, especially, since I love DIY projects using items that you usually thought have only one purpose.

This is also a space-saver idea and you can hang it anywhere you want which is very convenient, and this is also preferable to making a wall garden organizer. With this project by HGTV Handmade on YouTube, you only need a shoe organizer along with other usual planting supplies. Watch the video tutorial now to learn how.

Materials for DIY Indoor Herb Garden Organizer:

Step 1

Hang the shoe organizer in place, then pierce or make small holes along the bottom of each plastic, and make sure to do this carefully. Line the bottom of each pocket with a layer of small gravel stones, scoop dirt on top of each gravel layer, and then remove the pre-planted herbs from their pots or planters.

Step 2

Squeeze the roots of the herbs and move them around as demonstrated in the video to loosen the roots, then place them in the pocket, and add more dirt as needed. You can also put some labels or signs on each pocket if you want.
