This video tutorial by Notches Sewing on YouTube will teach you how to easily make your own handy clear pouch where you can put your phone and bring it everywhere you go. It’s super easy to make, all you have to do is to follow the step-by-step instructions and you can have your own sling pouch. You can also make one for a loved one and give it as a gift, or you can even sell it if you want.
Step 1
Cut out all of the pattern pieces, then cut the plastic vinyl and fabric to size as well, and make sure that the notches are cut, too. Cut the interfacing fabric for the back piece, then lay the wrong side of the fabric to the glue side of the interfacing making sure to match the edges nicely, and press them together to fuse. Prepare the top binding, bottom binding, and side loops, then lay the back piece right up, place the pattern on top, and cut the notches.
Step 2
Attach the magnet to the notches, then open the top binding, and place the top edge of the vinyl at the center. Push the other magnet to the notch on the vinyl, then fold the binding down, and clip them in place. Sandwich the bottom edge of the vinyl to the center of the bottom binding and clip them in place, then stitch the loop piece from the edge with a 1/8 inch seam allowance, and cut it in half equally.

Step 3
Switch the foot of the machine to Teflon, then lay some tape on the machine for the plastic to slide through, and start stitching the edges of the top and bottom binding. Clip the magnet together with the vinyl piece on top, then line up the sides, and clip them in place. Fold the loop pieces in half, then place them on each side of the top binding making sure they are centered, and clip them in place.
Step 4
Fold the notch on the top edge and clip it down, then start stitching from the top and all the way down, repeat on the other side, and trim off all the corners close to the stitching line. Open the top edge and fold it down to make a cuff, then turn the whole piece right side out, and poke the corners nicely.
Step 5
Adjust the seams on each side, then clip them around, and start topstitching with a 1/8 inch seam allowance from the bottom and all the way around. Cut the cotton cord for the strap of the pouch, then thread the ends to the loops, add a bead on each one, and tie the end into a knot before fraying the excess nicely.
