Looking for a fun project idea to try this weekend? Why don’t you check this cute log birdhouse tutorial by Bill Rosener on YouTube? Using only a piece of log and a few scrap wood, you can make your own birdhouse that looks unique but super pretty! It is also very simple and easy to make, especially because of this tutorial that contains the necessary instructions you need including 4 easy ways of removing the inside of a log depending on which tool you’ll be using. Try making this and show us the results!
Step 1
Cut the top of the log on each side at a 45°angle to place the roof in, you can use a template to make cutting easier. once you’ve cut the top of each log, remove the inside using a bandsaw, simply cut a large hole at the center. If you’re using a handsaw or chainsaw, draw and mark the flat top of the log first, then cut off four sides, and reassemble them not including the square center.

Step 2
Drill a decent-sized hole at the front piece of your birdhouse, then cut 2 pieces of wood at an angle for the roof, and attach them on top of the log. Create a base for the birdhouse as well, then cut a long piece of wood, and attach it to the back of the birdhouse. You can now attach the birdhouse to a tree or anywhere you like.
