I have never tried making a cake on a crockpot before but I always wanted to try, and yesterday I finally did! It was quite an experience and the cake turned out so good that I can eat it every day. I’m surely going to make this crockpot lava cake more often.

Step 1
In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the cake mix, eggs, and oil, then beat everything with a hand mixer for a few seconds until combined, and gradually pour in the coffee making sure to mix well in between each addition but do not overmix.

In a separate mixing bowl, add the pudding mix and milk, then whisk them until combined, set it aside, and allow it to thicken for a few minutes. Spray a 5-quart oval or larger crockpot with nonstick cooking spray, then pour in the cake batter, and add the pudding mixture in dollops over the cake.
Step 3
Sprinkle the chocolate chips all over the top, then cover the crockpot with the lid, and allow the cake to cook on a high setting for about 3 hours, make sure not to open the lid during the cooking time. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream and enjoy!
