Step 1
Place a large skillet on a stove over medium-high heat, then add the chopped apples, and cook them for about 8 minutes. Turn off the heat, then remove any liquid, and let them cool down completely.
Step 2
In a large mixing bowl, add the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, salt, and sugar, then give them a good whisk to combine, and then add in the beaten egg and milk.
Step 3
Continue to whisk until combined, then add in the cooked apples, and give them a good mix until evenly distributed. Place a pot or deep pan on a stove, then add in the oil, and heat it until 350°-375°F.
Step 4
Once the oil is hot, drop the apple batter by large spoonfuls, then fry them for about 2 minutes per side until evenly browned, and place them on a wire rack or plate lined with a paper towel to drain off the excess oil.
Step 5
While waiting for them to cook, prepare the glaze in a small bowl, simply mix the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk until smooth and incorporated, and use it to glaze the apple fritters. Serve and enjoy!
