However, if you don’t have a tree to set up this year or are simply looking for more Christmas projects to make, then I highly recommend that you give this cute DIY idea a try. Watch this video tutorial by Jia-sewing on YouTube and see for yourself.
Step 1
Draw your template on a piece of paper and cut it out, it should be 12×10 inches, the first or bottom layer should be 12 inches in width, then the second layer should be 8 inches, and the top layer 5 inches. Cut 5 of your fabric prints into a square, it should be large enough to cover your template, then lay the fabrics together, put the template on top, and place a heavy object over it to keep it in place, or use fabric pins instead.
Step 2
Trace around the shape, then cut them out and set them aside. Fold the template in half, then place it over the 2 remaining fabrics making sure to line up their edges nicely, and trace around the shape. Stitch down the straight side, then cut out the curves, and press the seams open.
Step 3
Pair the fabrics together and make sure their right sides are facing, then stitch around each pair making sure to leave a small opening at the bottom, and turn them right side out. Poke the corners nicely, then stack them together, and stitch along the middle. Stuff each side with poly-fill fiberfill, then stitch the hole closed and sew a bead to each tip of the tree for the ornaments.
