This no-fail recipe is so easy to make and quick to prepare that you can have it ready in just a few simple steps. If you have some leftover ingredients such as ham, chicken, or other types of cheese in the fridge, then you can add them to the dough, and make these biscuits even more delicious than they already are. These are some of my favorite things for breakfast, too, they are just so hearty and incredibly addicting!
Biscuits
Maple Butter
Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, add the flour and sugar, then give them a quick mix, add the cold butter cut them into small pieces, and mix them into the flour with a pastry cutter or fork. Pour in the buttermilk, then give them a good stir, add the cheese, scallions, and chopped bacon, and give them a quick mix to combine.
Step 2
Transfer the mixture to your work surface and work the dough as demonstrated in the video, then wrap it with plastic, and put it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1 hour. Once the dough is almost ready, preheat your oven to 400°F, then line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and set it aside.
Step 3
Get the dough out of the fridge, then remove the plastic wrap and transfer it to your work surface. Sprinkle it with some flour, then flatten it with a rolling pin until about ½ inch thick, and cut the dough into whatever size you want.
Step 4
Place the biscuit dough in the prepared baking sheet spacing them evenly, then brush the top with buttermilk, and place them in the preheated oven. Allow them to bake for about 10 to 15 minutes, then while waiting, mix the butter, maple syrup, and sea salt until incorporated, and serve it on the side of the freshly baked biscuits.
