Planning to redecorate or renovate your garden? Then, you might want to consider this idea by HAXMAN on YouTube! In this video tutorial, you’ll learn how to make a faux stone using only cement and some plastic bags. Within only a few minutes, you can have a few of these realistic stones to use for your garden’s edging.

Materials:

  • Cement
  • Water
  • Plastic bags or plastic sheets
  • Scissors
  • Trowel

Directions:

Step 1

Mix together the cement and water using a trowel until they are well combined, the amount of water you need to use depends on how sturdy you want the finished product to be. The more water you use the weaker the finished product will be. Once you’re contented with the cement mixture consistency, then you can go on ahead and start shaping the faux stones. If you’re using long plastic bags or sheets, then you might want to cut them out into smaller pieces, still, this depends on how large or wide your stones are.

Step 2

Lay the plastic and spread it open, make sure to smoothen out the surface, then start scooping the cement and put it at the center of the plastic. Spread it out a bit and press down with your hands, make sure to wear some protective gloves. Now, gather the sides of the plastic upward, then twist and tighten before tying it securely. Leave it to dry for about 20 minutes or until it is completely dry. After drying it out and it has become solid, cut the plastic open and remove it from the stone. Use them for your garden’s stone edging.
