Takeouts are very convenient when you don’t have much time to prepare food or you’re too hungry to cook. One of my favorite dishes to order is a beef and cabbage stir-fry, and even if I have time to cook, I choose not to just to eat this yummy dish for dinner.

But, I also want to try making it at home instead because that way I can save more money, and at the same time I will have more portion if I cook it at home. I tried this recipe by Cook! Stacey Cook on YouTube and it tastes just as good as those that I order from restaurants, if not better!
Cabbage
Beef
Sauce
Step 1
Prepare all of the veggies and meat, then in a large bowl, add the beef strips, and season them with soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, cornstarch, baking soda, and water. Give them a good mix until evenly coated, then add both oil, and continue to mix until well coated. Place a pan on a stove over medium-high heat, then heat some oil, and add a bit of sugar and salt.
Step 2
Add the cabbage and carrot, then saute them for about 30 seconds or until coated with oil evenly, add the rice wine, and mix well. Pour in the water, then cover the pan with the lid, and once the water starts boiling, let the cabbage cook for about 40 seconds. Transfer the veggies to a plate and set them aside, then in the same pan, add more oil, and stir fry the marinated meat.
Step 3
Allow them to cook until golden, then add the garlic and some of the green onion, rice wine, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and sugar, and give them a good mix to combine. Add the water, then let the sauce thicken, and put the cooked veggies back into the pan. Season them with some black pepper to taste, then give them a good toss, and serve. Enjoy!
