This buckeye beauty quilt by Jordan Fabrics on YouTube is a quilt project that’s simple enough for beginners to try and also challenging and fun enough for experts to make! It’s jelly roll-friendly and the only other fabric you’ll need is for the background.

You can use any set of jelly roll strips for this quilt project, the design is also perfect for a table runner, wall-hanging quilt, table topper, pillowcase, or whatever you like. Learn how now by watching the video tutorial below, then give it a try, and see for yourself.
Step 1
Cut the fabrics to size, then get a print stip and a background strip, and stack them together with their right sides facing and edges lined up. Stitch down one side with ¼ inch seam allowance, then press the seams toward the darker fabric, and sub-cut it into strip units.
Step 2
Next, make two more sets of strips, then lay them together with their right sides facing, and make sure the fabrics are opposite each other. Stitch them down the long side, then press the seams to the darker fabric, and set aside the 4 patch blocks.
Step 3
Now, stitch together two print strips, then place a large background strip on top, and stitch them down both sides. Press them down until nice and flat, then sub-cut them into triangles as shown in the video, and press them open.
Step 4
Trim off the excess, then arrange everything together into a block, and stitch them together one at a time. Make more blocks, then assemble the blocks together as demonstrated in the video or refer to the pattern, and finish your quilt however you want.
