I was casually scrolling through the internet for a good hack that I could try at home when I stumbled upon this video tutorial by Mr Smart on YouTube. I was instantly hooked by the idea of wrapping a broom with plastic wrap and I wish I had known about it sooner.

Sometimes, when we’re sweeping our floors clean, hair and dust could get trapped in the bristles of your broom, and they can be hard to remove. There are also chances that the same dirt could get spread on your floor again. This is where this cleaning hack comes in handy.

Grab a broom and a plastic wrap, then wrap the plastic around the base of the broom’s handle to the broom itself until entirely covered. Sweep your floor as usual and you will see hair and other dirt come together more easily. Once done, peel off the plastic, then wrap the collected dirt with it, and throw it in the trash.

Bonus Hack #1: Broken Mop Handle

Grab a small piece of balloon to the end of the broom handle, then push it all the way down to the bottom of the balloon, and insert the handle into the broom’s head. Twist it around to tighten and lock the handle in place, then wrap some tape around it or add adhesive or hot glue inside for more security.

Bonus Hack #2: DIY Clothes Cover

Fold a Ziploc bag in half, then cut off the bottom folded corner, and unfold the bag. Hang your shirt on a hanger, then fold both sleeves inward, and then fold the entire bottom of the shirt upward until you reach the base of the hanger. Insert the plastic over the shirt, then insert the hook of the hanger through the hole of the plastic, and seal the opening at the bottom.
