I love stir-fry recipes, and I always serve one during the weekday as it’s so easy to prepare. One of my go-to’s is this black pepper chicken stir-fry from Nomadette Eats I found on Youtube. It’s just perfect for my family, as we love anything spicy and flavorful. You can also adjust the spicy level of this recipe if you want to mellow it down without sacrificing the taste. Watch the video below for the full recipe.

Ingredients:

  • 1 & 1/2 cups cubed chicken breast
  • 1 tsp light soy sauce + 1 tbsp for the pepper sauce
  • 1 tsp white pepper
  • 1 tsp cornflour (or cornstarch)
  • 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 2 tsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp black pepper (adjust to pepper taste level)
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1-inch ginger, sliced
  • 1 red onion
  • 2 cloves chopped garlic
  • green bell pepper, chopped
  • yellow bell pepper, chopped
  • red chili

Directions:

Step 1

To start, prepare the black pepper sauce for the chicken. Combine 3 tbsp tomato ketchup, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 2 tsp sugar, and 1 tbsp black pepper (adjust to your pepper taste level) in a bowl. Mix and add 2 tbsp of water to loosen up the consistency. Set it aside. Next, chop your green and yellow bell pepper as well as the red chili, then slice your aromatics: onion, garlic, and ginger. Lastly, marinate the cubed chicken breasts with 1 tsp light soy sauce, 1 tsp white pepper, and 1 tsp cornstarch. Mix well.

Step 2

Heat some oil in a pan and fry the chicken until golden brown. Once the chicken has a nice sear on both sides, add the ginger, onion, and minced garlic. Stir until fragrant, then add the black pepper sauce, as well as the chopped veggies. Stir all of that and let the chicken finish cooking. Transfer to a serving plate and serve hot.
