Add 3 tablespoons of cooking oil to a pot. Once the oil is hot, add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 1 inch of cinnamon sticks, 7 green cardamom pods, 1 star anise, 6 cloves, and 1 black cardamom or allspice. Saute for a few seconds.
Add the sliced onion and saute for a few seconds. Next, add 1 tablespoon of ginger and garlic paste. Saute until the onions become soft.
Add 3 tablespoons of water and the beef slices. Mix and fry for about 10 minutes over medium heat.
Season the beef with 1 teaspoon of ground turmeric, 1 teaspoon of coriander, 1 teaspoon of crushed black pepper, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of chili flakes, 1 and 1/2 teaspoons of red chili powder, salt, and pepper. Next, add 1 large habanero chili. Mix until well incorporated, then cook for 5 minutes.
Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt and mix for 3 minutes. Next, add 2 cups of water.
Pressure cook for 20 minutes or if you are going to use a whistle pressure cooker, cook until the pressure gives 3 whistles.
Once done, let it cool down by itself. Open and add 1 cup of warm water. Mix until it’s well incorporated. Bring the curry to a boil.
Add 1 tablespoon of tomato paste and mix well. Cook for 3 more minutes. Add the chopped coriander and mix again. Serve and enjoy!
