Materials:

  • charm pack
  • white fabric yardage
  • binding fabric yardage
  • ruler
  • rotary cutter

Directions:

Step 1

Grab your 5″ squares and cut them in half, giving you 2 & 1/2 rectangles. Cut out some white 2 & 1/2″ rectangles also, then cut them in half to make squares. Now, to make the first vertical columns of the quilt, start by laying a print rectangle and two white squares on each side. Sew them. For the second row, use two printed rectangles that have been sewn together also.  Repeat this alternating process. After this, create two more columns with the same process.

Step 2

Once you’ve created three columns, flank each side with a strip of white, acting as the spacer between the columns. Sew these all together. Next, to create a striped binding, take yardage and cut some 2 & 1/4″ diagonal pieces using the 45-degree on your ruler. After this, join your pieces together to create a straight binding.
