Step 1

In a small bowl, add the warm milk, yeast, and a teaspoon of sugar, then whisk them until well combined, and then let it stand for about 5 to 10 minutes or until very bubbly. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the melted butter, eggs, and remaining sugar, then whisk them until smooth and combined, and add in the yeast mixture.

Step 2

Keep stirring until combined, then add the flour and salt, and continue mixing over low speed until shaggy dough forms. Increase the speed to medium-low, then knead the dough for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic, and then transfer the dough to a lightly oiled bowl. Cover the bowl and let the dough rise at a warm temperature for about 1 hour and 15 minutes or until double in size.

Step 3

Line a large rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper, then lightly dust it with flour, and set it aside. Punch the risen dough to degas, then transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface, and roll it into a ½-inch thick rectangle. Cut out the donuts using a donut cutter, then place them onto the prepared baking sheet. Loosely cover them and let them rise for an additional 15 to 20 minutes, and then preheat the air fryer to 350°F for 10 minutes.

Step 4

Spray the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray, then cook them in batches making sure to space them 1 inch apart from each other, and let them fry for about 6 to 8 minutes or until golden brown. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, add the powdered sugar, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract, then whisk them until incorporated and smooth, and dip the warm donuts into the glaze. Place them on a wire rack, then let the glaze set for about 5 minutes, and serve. Enjoy!
