I love making handmade gifts or decor because I find the process enjoyable, turning a simple material or repurposing another item into something adorable is such a fun journey to experience. I also prefer handmade projects because I can easily customize or personalize them however I want.

DIYs are also a great idea especially if you want a certain item or design at a more affordable price than it would originally be when you bought it from the store or purchased it online. What’s even better about DIY projects is that you get to give items a new look and purpose instead of just throwing them away or keeping them in your storage for too long.
One of my recent favorite DIYs is this ribbon rose that you can make in as fast as 2 minutes and it doesn’t even require a lot of materials! Learn the step-by-step tutorial below now.
Materials for DIY Ribbon Rose
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Double-sided tape
- Lighter, optional
How to Make a Ribbon Rose
Step 1: Cut a piece of ribbon long enough to cover the entire ruler.
Step 2: Wrap the ribbon around the ruler diagonally, overlapping it as you go.
Step 3: Once you’ve wrapped the entire ruler, cut the excess, and place a piece of double-sided tape along the bottom from one end to the other.
Step 4: Remove the backing paper leaving only the adhesive.
Step 5: Next, carefully remove the ruler from the ribbon making sure not to ruin the shape.
Step 6: Now, starting from one end, roll the ribbon around, adhering the bottom together as you go.
Step 7: Once you’re done rolling the ribbon, add a small piece of tape to the inner corner of the end, and secure it in place.
I had so much fun making this DIY ribbon rose and it’s one of my favorite crafts! It’s also very pretty in person and it looks realistic, too. You can make this in other colors as well, such as, light pink, yellow, or even light blue! Let your imagination decide the limit of your creativity and you’ll be surprised by what incredible masterpiece you can make.
