Nothing makes the summer holiday season more fun than DIY decorative accessories made from patchwork remnants fashioned into an incredibly bright and cheerful seasonal flair. When I saw this lovely scrappy table runner video tutorial by the great Quilting Afficiando Donna Jordan, I knew I had to make it right away. I had so many remnants and fabric jellyroll scraps that I bought on sale at JoAnn’s Fabrics for next to nothing but didn’t quite know what I was going to do with them. I had been searching on Youtube for a great table runner quilting idea for my table and I finally struck gold with Donna! I started by Then I just followed the simple instructions and made my basic scrappy table runner pattern. All you need is some fabric scraps jelly roll or pre-cut strips to make squares, and a quilt backing fabric and you are ready to go, so let’s get quilting!

Materials For The Scrappy Table Runner:

  • Some Jelly Roll Scraps (are easiest to work with)
  • Thread
  • A cutting mat
  • A Rotary cutter
  • a quilter’s ruler
  • A pair of scissors
  • A sewing machine

Then, you will make the middle scrappy portion by sewing the strips on a diagonal. Then, adding solid strips, as per Donna’s expert instructions.
