I love Dolly Parton and when I found her fried chicken recipe on the Youtube Hallmark Channel I was filled with excitement! Seeing Dolly on the Home and Family program, showing everyone how she made her Country Fried Chicken is nothing short of amazing. Dolly calls this one of her favorite dishes because it brings back so many childhood memories of growing up on the farm in Locust Ridge, Tennessee Dolly says, fried chicken was always served to celebrate special occasions because they raised chickens but only ate the eggs usually, although on Sunday Dolly’s Daddy would get a chicken out of the barnyard and her Momma would fry it for the whole family in a big cast-iron skillet. This recipe is so easy to follow that anybody can do it. Dolly likes to submerge the chicken in ice water before she douses it in the flour mixture.

I just love seeing an iconic Country and Western performer like Dolly showing us the down-home recipes she grew up making at her home in Locust Ridge, Tennessee nestled against the Great Smokey Mountains. You can tell that of everything Dolly has achieved, she remains grounded and humble in faith and in family. Dolly proved that no dream was ever too big and no smokey mountain was ever too high for this country girl who turned the world into her stage. From singing barefoot in Locust Ridge to commanding the stage in 6-inch heels. Dolly is a living legend who grew up with a big heart, big dreams, and delicious fried chicken. This recipe is not only delicious but also steeped in a rich history that American Dreams are made of.

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
