I love the Crazy Russian Hacker and the great ideas he shares with us! This cork board costs you very little to make, especially if you’re a wine drinker! Or, ask your wine loving friends to save their wine corks. Only real corks will do. Not the plastic ones, even though they have great color and designs. Save those for something else.
You can make these cork boards as large or as small as you want. Just pick up a frame at the dollar store, thrift stores or garage sales… or you may have some extra frames already.
This cork board is certainly more interesting than a plain old cork board…don’t you agree? Some people even use this for wall art! I chose to make mine with a purpose in mind.
These make the most useful memo boards. I just love mine! You’re gonna really enjoy having this if you’re anything like me and need a board to stick your post it notes on. If I didn’t have one of these, my post it notes would be everywhere and I’d never remember anything!
The only difficult thing (and I use that word loosely) is laying out the corks. You can use any design, but I chose something simple.
Start by running a row of corks all the way around the inside edge of the frame. Then start building blocks of corks. You’ll probably notice that the corks are a variety of sizes. Work in blocks of the same size.
Using hot glue, secure the corks into place by gluing the backs and the sides of the corks. This way they are nice and secure in the frame.
