I love indoor plants, which is why when I saw this on YouTube, I knew I had to make one. It’s so easy to make, and it has become one of my favorite DIYs up to date. I just love how simple this is and how the materials are recyclable, like plastic bottles and some twigs. Learn how to make this by watching the video tutorial below for the step by step process, or continue reading down for the complete written instructions.

Materials:

  • wooden sticks or twigs
  • handsaw
  • jute thread
  • scissors
  • hot glue gun
  • old plastic bottle
  • black acrylic paint
  • super glue

Directions:

Step 1

Cut the plastic bottle in half, then paint the half bottom in black acrylic paint. Let it dry. Next, measure the twigs in the same size as the bottom half of the bottle, then cut them using a handsaw. Now, glue two longer twigs on opposite sides of the bottle, then glue the shorter twigs all around. After this, cut three pieces of jute thread, braid them, and then glue the braided thread onto the project for design.

Step 2

Next, cut short pieces of twigs then attach them to the longer twigs using jute thread, creating a ladder-like design. Once done, add super glue to the jute for extra security. Let it dry. After this, add some water and a water plant. Place it wherever you like!

Since I lover experiments, I’ve alwaysnloved to create, paint, as well as cook and style food. I feel in love with DIY as soon as I discovered it and could not have been more excited when I learned I could share projects with people around the world. Taking photos is a passion of mine, as is design and painting with oils. I love holidays and celebrations, crafting cute little gifts and serving up at least one new recipe I am excited about.
